Best WordPress SEO plugin
The best free SEO plugin that I use is WordPress SEO. Although if you search the net, you’ll see a lot of mention of the All In One SEO plugin, which is pretty good as well, but not as good as WordPress SEO. I have worked with both and since the discovery of WordPress SEO a few years back, it provides all the seo help one needs to create a Search Engine Optimized Article or Post.
WordPress SEO forces you to choose a focus keyword when you’re writing your articles and then makes sure you use that focus keyword everywhere. Note: keywords can be one word or combination of words also known as keyword phrases. The newly updated WordPress SEO has integrated Linkdex Page Analysis functionality which checks simple things you’re bound to forget. It checks, for instance, if you have images in your post and whether they have an alt tag containing the focus keyword for that post. It also checks whether your posts are long enough, if you’ve written a meta description and if that meta description contains your focus keyword, if you’ve used any subheadings within your post, etc. etc.
The newly updated version has a lot more new features than I can write in this post. So, if you are concerned about SEO and the quality of your content, you might want to give this Word Press SEO plugin a try. SEO focus keywords should be written in your article title and within the body of your content. The words and sentences you write should all be relevant to the particular article. Do not overly write your focus keyword within the body of your article, instead use related phrases or synonyms that descriptively sum up your article content. When creating the alt tag for your images, please do not use the same focus keyword.
WordPress SEO by Yoast is a great free WP Plugin to help with Search Engine Optimization, but . . with the new Google Panda algorithm update, be careful you do not overly optimize your website by over stuffing your content with your chosen focus keyword.

I’m a big fan of the Yoast SEO plug-in and have used it successfully for a while. The one thing I’d add is don’t worry about being perfect on every measure. Hit the majority of them till you get an overall “green”, and you’ll see still see positive results.
